Other notable facts:
The Peoria Sports Complex was the first Major League Baseball Spring Training and player development facility in the country that is shared by two teams. The San Diego Padres and the Seattle Mariners utilize the facility on a year round basis. Spring Training attracts an average annual attendance of over 200,000 fans, which is the highest attendance in the Cactus League.

A recent third party review of the Peoria Sports Complex’s operations rated it as the most highly used complex in Arizona and Florida of like facilities on a year-round basis. It was also determined that the Sports Complex is one of the most successful Spring Training venues in terms of constant and increasing annual participation numbers.

In 2005, Phoenix New Times named the Peoria Sports Complex “Best Place to See a Spring Training Game.”
